J.A.R.V.I.S: Voice-Activated Blockchain Actions Built on Rootstock

Hi, I’m Raíssa, Developer Campaigns Manager at Rootstock. After each hackathon, we shine a light on standout projects built by creative, determined developers who push the boundaries of what’s possible on Bitcoin’s smart contract layer.

At ETHGlobal New Delhi 2025, one project that caught our attention and the prize was J.A.R.V.I.S., a voice-controlled AI agent that turns spoken commands into real blockchain actions, built by a team of four friends from an Engineering college.

Here’s how Aditya Suryawanshi and his team members - Jay, Harshal, Soham, and Divesh - brought their idea to life in just one weekend.

Meet the Team: Hackathon Veterans with a New AI Mission

Aditya and his teammates met in college and have been weekend hackathon hunters ever since. They’ve worked on various projects, from DeFi apps to ZK rollup experiments. In 2025 however, their focus shifted to the intersection of AI and Web3.

“AI agents are booming, faster than even blockchain,” Aditya explained. “We wanted to merge both technologies in a truly useful way.”

With complementary skills - AI, frontend, backend, and blockchain development - the team was set up for a speedy delivery. ETHGlobal India was a milestone for them, especially after past appearances at ETHIndia ‘22 and ‘23.

Introducing J.A.R.V.I.S. - Speak Your Web3 Actions

J.A.R.V.I.S. (yes, just like Iron Man’s AI assistant) is a voice-activated Web3 agent. Whether you’re driving, in a meeting, or onboarding to crypto for the first time, J.A.R.V.I.S lets you say what you want to do and then executes blockchain actions on your behalf.

Do you want to:

  • Check your on-chain assets?

  • Send a transaction?

  • Create a wallet?

  • Deploy or debug a smart contract?

Just say it. J.A.R.V.I.S turns your words into instructions, then into code. The prototype built at ETHGlobal handled four main tasks, but the team’s vision is much broader. They envision the tool eventually supporting general-purpose voice automation for developers and non-tech users alike.

Why Rootstock?

With so many blockchains to choose from at ETHGlobal, why did the team decide to build on Rootstock?

For Aditya, the answer was practical:

“I needed a robust network with great documentation. I didn’t want to spend half the hackathon debugging chain issues. I wanted to build.”

Rootstock’s EVM compatibility, clear documentation, and fast TRPC testnet made it an ideal choice. The team also relied on Rootstock’s block explorer to run user data analysis for voice-based transaction summaries, and the support from the Rootstock DevEx team helped them resolve bugs and polish their MVP.

Sleepless Nights, Supportive Builders

Like many hackathon stories, J.A.R.V.I.S was born under pressure. The team booked flights just two days in advance, arrived with minimal sleep, and stayed up almost the entire weekend hacking.

Despite the grind, the vibe was uplifting.

“The Rootstock team took the time to talk to us about the AI side of the project — not just during the pitch, but afterward too,” Aditya shared. “That meant a lot.”

What’s Next for J.A.R.V.I.S?

J.A.R.V.I.S is currently in MVP mode, but the team is committed to taking it further. Their roadmap includes:

  • expanding task support beyond the original 4–5 voice commands

  • making the assistant more accessible to non-tech users

  • improving natural language understanding and accuracy

  • building tools that help developers use voice commands to write and deploy smart contracts.

J.A.R.V.I.S. is just one part of the team’s long-term vision.they’re exploring multiple projects at the intersection of AI and blockchain, and looking to participate in more international hackathons.

“I want to join a global hackathon abroad next year,” Aditya told us. “And I’d love to see Rootstock grow globally too.”

Tips for Future Hackers

Aditya’s advice for fellow hackers:

  • Focus on an MVP, especially at hackathons. Don’t try to do everything.

  • Pick chains with good documentation. It saves time and energy.

  • And most of all: get out there and build. Every hackathon sharpens your skills.

Final Thoughts

J.A.R.V.I.S shows what’s possible when passionate builders use voice, AI, and Rootstock’s smart contract layer to make Web3 more accessible. It’s not just about automation — it’s about removing friction, empowering users, and making blockchain interactions feel as seamless as speaking a sentence.

We can’t wait to watch this team and project thrive and push boundaries, building on Rootstock in the coming months.
